The movers are coming tomorrow and even with as much stuff as I have already moved myself in my car (using and re-using the same boxes, ha!) I can already feel the hysteria rising. Why? Because I know that even if it is literally only two guys and a truck, they will be able to work so much faster than I will be able to keep up with them. Not a bad thing considering they charge by the hour, but still.
We moved the contents of our closets this weekend. There is always so much more shoved into a closet than you think there is. Why, oh why, do I have so many clothes? Just because they still fit or were inexpensive to acquire does not mean I have to keep them all. Particularly when I only wear 1/3 of them on a regular basis – at most. Some I will refashion into something new and different – when I find several extra hours a day that is…
Today we will work on gathering up the piles of loose, random crap that are still lingering and take them (it? all?) over to the new house. The movers will move dressers with clothes in the drawers but anything else has to be removed first. I stuff drawers full of miscellaneous bits and pieces all the time – which is why drawers are great! – but that means that I will have to either empty the drawers before tomorrow or better yet just move the drawers today myself.
There’s really no need to panic anyway – we still have our rental house for a week. Anything that doesn’t get moved tomorrow I can come back for. But I really really don’t want to come back to do anything besides give this place a final clean and turn over the keys.
