I had a lot of plans for what I was going to do in our new house before we moved in, with the idea that I’d have nearly 6 weeks to accomplish them. With only 2 weeks instead, some of those plans had to be rearranged and re-prioritized.
And some of them had to be hired out.
I feel really lucky that I was able to find some painters who could come and paint the bedrooms for me not only on short notice but in a time frame that put them finishing the job before I have the carpet cleaners coming. That’s a load off my mind.
Our moving truck is scheduled to come early next week but they charge by the hour so I am determined to have as much of the small stuff moved before they get here as I can. I have to get creative with where I put things for now since I don’t want to pile things up in areas where painters are working or where there is carpet. But hubby and I did manage to move nearly all of his books this weekend which is not an inconsiderable accomplishment. A fellow soccer parent stopped by this weekend with his truck and took two loads for us as well. Can you believe that my hell room is nearly empty?
The fact that the shelving in the basement storage area at the new house is nearly full is neither here not there. At least the boxes are there.
I am not a fan of moving and have already questioned why we have so much stuff and announced to my husband that we are staying in this house for a long time. But so far so good. At least I’m feeling on top of things this time. Being in control of the process makes a huge difference.
