The People in My Neighborhood

Happened to have my camera handy when this lady happened by. You should have seen me trying to get up close enough behind her to get a good shot without alerting her!

lady with package in Cairo

You can’t see it in the picture but the English writing under the Arabic on the bag she’s carrying says “Step into Fashion”.

Pictures like these are why I should always carry my camera with me!

I love your pictures! Keep them coming!

Great shot. I got a new cell phone a while back so I’d be more likely to have a camera with me for those “gotta have it” shots.

Terry – I’ve thought about getting a phone with a camera because it would be handy, but I don’t think the resolution would be good enough for taking really good pictures.

Anny – thank you! I guess I just need to carry my camera all the time. I missed a wonderful shot last June of a lady walking down the street holding her child’s hand, balancing a large cabbage on her head. She walked right past my apartment building and I was totally unprepared :(

Jenyfer, I don’t expect cell-phone quality to rival a regular camera, but at least it does capture the image. I got mine mostly so I could remember what things looked like because I’m so terrible about writing descriptions. Have a record shot helps.

My friend has a snazzy camera that takes okay pictures – but she can’t figure out how to get them off the phone, lol!

A cell phone would be perfect for those covert, not artistic shots – like the one I’ve wanted to get in the pharmacy showing the Viagra sitting on the shelf (OTC!) next to the laxatives! :)
